When we went to Big Woods State Park, we stopped by Northfield each way. C and I both mentioned how surprised we were about Northfield. I will already say that we both expressed a desire to return soon.

We had lunch at Hogan Brother’s. The staff were brilliant and patient with us. Our portions were large and the freshly baked bread was lovely on our sandwiches. I was too full after half a sandwich. I can see why a friend recommended we eat here.

When we returned after our park visit, we walked along the river walk in the downtown/city center area of Northfield. Even though there did not appear to be events going on, the area was busy with people enjoying their day.

I did not take many photographs as I was simply enjoying the moment more than anything. I definitely want to take a day trip to Northfield and discover more including their arboretum and other offerings.
