So in an effort to find new places near by, we drove the family to Big Woods State Park near Nerstrand, MN. They had a nice welcome center which wasn’t too busy like other state parks. It took a while for Kid Willow to learn that even though we were outside, needed to speak softly to hear the birds and other animals in the park.

The small trail that we used went to the Hidden Falls in the park. When we visited there was a slight drought so the water was not flowing, but the falls were pretty nonetheless. Kid Willow enjoyed being able to be closer to a waterfall than usual. The trail had a decent incline so at a few points slow and steady was the way to go. We did not mind as it was really vibrant with life. Definitely a place I would not mind seeing again.
