Seeing as the kiddos really grew an appreciation for train travel while on our trip, family decided to gather for a gentle steam train trip in the countryside starting at the Cheltenham. I am so glad we did. Back home in the states we were (and still continuing to) experiencing major drought so seeing all the green was great. The passenger train cars were simple and the conductor was pleasant. It was a great time for catching up with family.

We went to Toddington not too far away and had a nice picnic. There was a small snack shop and playground at this station. It was fairly quiet and everyone seemed to have a good time. If you are into souvenirs, they have a unique gift shop that is more adult tourist than toys for kiddos. This is an activity run by people who are passionate about keeping this tradition alive. Their passion shows and made the experience more pleasant for all present.
