London Natural History Museum

Two things before I start. Yes, get the day passes. If you travel with kids, go to the wide doors with the attendant. The second bit of advice also applied to all the train stations with ticket doors in the country that we happened upon in our trip.

The Natural History Museum was absolutely packed for a Monday. We did not expect to see so many people as summer break was not in session yet when we were there. We were even told by people we visited in London that it should be fairly quiet. Not. so. much. Either way, we visited many of the exhibits and found quiet spots in each exhibit to re-calibrate from the crowds. The cafe by the outdoor section of this enormous museum is one of those more quiet places in the museum.

I did enjoy the curated exhibits from paleolithic to current day, but what really caught my eye was the building itself. There were lovely details carved in the stonework in each room and on the exterior. It boggled my mind to see people not even giving it a glance.

It is a good museum, but crowds like we experienced can be a bit much. If you do visit, please try to visit on a quiet day. Bye for now.
