So I will admit that I goofed on my times and thought that the day we visited was an open house. It was not. So instead of touring the home, we took a meander around the park and the grounds. Due to the chill, we did not stick around too long.

It was cool to see the river  floor plain and being so high up we could see for a long distance. We have had an unusually dry November and the ground was dry which made our time easier.

I would like to give this place another shot in late spring or summer. I think the place will feel more welcoming.
