Although we don’t visit here enough, Wood Lake Nature Center is a great local place for a walk in nature. There are wetlands, wooded areas, and the like. Many birds, mammals and other animals call this place home.

This is a place to take your time. Unfortunately our visit with extended family was truncated due to a storm brewing so we took in a shorter path. The whole group enjoyed the gentle walk and taking pictures of the wildlife. The kiddos particularly enjoyed seeing the muskrat and the turtle near the pedestrian bridge.

Hopefully we get another chance to take our time to try out the rest of the nature center and try all the trails.
