We went to Cherokee, Iowa for a weekend last year after they had quite a wet spring. So it was very green all around town. During one of the afternoons, we explored and hung around Spring Lake Park which is a city park on the south side of town.

We enjoyed a few hours looking at the fish, having a chat at the picnic table and watching the birds. In truth other than the little science museum that could (next post), visiting this park was the highlight of our time in town. It was nice to escape to a calm park where the kiddos could explore and play.
