Whitetail Woods Regional Park

One thing I truly love about Minnesota and the Midwest in particular is the many options for parks beyond only visiting national parks. While state parks and national parks are great, the regional and city parks are pretty good for day trips.

This is a park we visited last spring for the first time. It was fairly quiet and nature really started to wake up from a lighter slumber of winter. The water foul leisurely swam and perched in the lake. Turtles were basking in the sun. The grass just started to regain its color.

I genuinely enjoyed the park. The kiddos kept their eyes on the ground in hopes of seeing a cool rock to show each other. They enjoyed playing with a reed in the water on the boardwalk to watch the ripples. I was pleased to see a good area for picnics and what appeared to be upgrades.

This particular park has two very popular camper cabins. This is one of those places that is a nice walk on a quiet day. The paths were a mix of paved and not paved. The kiddos enjoyed the little playground area near the parking lot with the other kiddos while there. This is definitely a great place for a walk with our kiddos as long as they get to enjoy the play area.

Bye for now.
