We as a family went on a family trip to the Duluth and North Shore area last summer. There were so many places we visited and still never exhausted the options. Brighton Beach is one of the places we enjoyed in this time.

After C and I spent the morning at Glensheen, we joined the rest of our group at Brighton Beach at Kitchi Gammi Park to go agate hunting and spend time watching the lake water crash along the rocks. It was a nice afternoon and the kiddos really seemed to enjoy looking at the variety of rocks along the shore.

There is a nice bike path right near this thin rocky beach. The city seems to be inline with many Twin Cities communities with the native plant restorations. So if you are in the area and wish to go for a bike ride, this appears to be a good place to do so.

I would not spend the whole day on this beach but a few hours is a great getaway in nature – picnic included. Bye for now.
