





While visiting friends in Newcastle, we took a different approach to our being tourists which was to stay out of the extra busy obvious tourist traps. We did visit a few takeaways and the like, but we focused on being at a park so Kid Willow could play football/soccer in an open space, and the rest of us could enjoy a walk in nature.




Being a sunny and warm day this beautiful park was a fairly popular local gem with an interesting history. It is not in the city center, but is near enough to two Metro (commuter train) locations. If you are ever in Newcastle Upon Tyne in the UK, please take some time to walk here. It is a much needed break from the busyness of the city center/downtown.
