North of the Twin Cities there are several state parks, but this one is one that C likes and wanted to share with me. They had visited in the past with the kiddos. Since we were returning home from a location further north, C drove to this park as a stopping point for a picnic and walk around.

Banning State Park is a longer park with what appears to be two distinct sections. We had a picnic in the more northern entrance area with a small trek to Teacher’s lookout point. There we saw people rafting down the river.

Later we went to the location with the rock formations C wanted to share. It isn’t the largest, widest or tallest waterfall, but it is still a very pretty location. This seems to be a good place to spend an afternoon and even have a picnic on the flat rock type river bank. Understandably this also seems to be a popular location so there will be several visitors. I think it’s worth it though.
Bye for now.
Update: Since we visited in spring there has been some disruptions concerning the water. This park is currently closed until all is clear for the public.
